The rink is a year-round destination venue with a diverse multi-generational captive audience. The summer event season extends from April through October with programming such as public roller skating, monthly movie nights, & more in addition to rental space available for public and private events. The winter ice skating season begins in November and continues through March.

Last night’s Roller Disco at Providence Rink was so exhilarating!! I didn’t expect to have this much fun rollerskating between DJ sets and seeing happy faces 🌈 It made my whole summer 🔥 and let me tell you it was hot as hell outside I ended up taking my shirt off 😳
So why can’t we do more of these all the time? We need this in Massachusetts!! Anyone want to run a roller disco party in the Boston area with me in the summer?? 😝 With everything going on now, it’s the perfect event outdoors! There’s something very magical about listening to disco and moving your body gliding and sliding with the breeze in your face 🤩 my whole inspiration for DJing began with roller disco years back, and I really felt like I was in my element last night. Thank you to all my friends who came out all the way from Boston! Providence Rink does have this all summer every Thursday and Friday nights so do check it out . The rink is so smooth it’s very easy to skate on.

Here are some of the best things to do near Providence, RI
🥞 Start the day with a stop at The Modern Diner (364 East Ave, Pawtucket) for breakfast or brunch (highly recommend the award-winning Custard French Toast)
🗺️ Then head over to The Map Center (545 Pawtucket Ave, Pawtucket) and check out all the cool maps, books, and globes that Andrew has in his store
⛸️ 10 minutes away is the Providence Rink (2 Kennedy Plaza, Providence) where you can rent skates for an afternoon on the ice, and if you book ahead of time you might even get tickets for the ice bumper cars, which looked like a ton of fun!
🍕Providence Coal Fired Pizza came highly recommended for a vibey pizza stop
🍪 and definitely don’t head home before stopping by Insomnia Cookies (259 Weybosset St, Providence) for a treat for the drive home!

History
By 1983, when this photo was taken, the railroads that had dominated the city for over 100 years were clearly past their prime. These overgrown and elevated train tracks would soon be removed and those that remained pushed underground. The tunnel that these elevated tracks led to would be closed and the bridge across the Seekonk River on the other side of the tunnel would be raised for the last time.
