Lift the darkness of winter
From February 1st to February 17th, 2025, downtown Providence will once again transform into a vibrant winter wonderland for the Lumina 2025 Festival. This year, we're thrilled to introduce POP! Installation and musical experiences by LeMounde Studios downtown, along with captivating performances. We're also inviting local artists to contribute public art centered around illumination. We're excited to build these new installations together and are actively seeking community sponsorships to bring them to life.
Installations
POP! from Gentilhomme
An installation that will bring you surprises, music and dance!
POPO, POPUP, POPLI, POPETTE and POPOTIN are waiting for you to entice them to leave their mysterious luminous monoliths for an electrifying fiesta.
There are five enigmatic monoliths where the POP! creatures live. Set them free by calling out to them, talking to them, or even by singing. As you encourage one to show itself, watch the monolith get brighter and brighter until it opens to release a creature who’s ready to put
on a show. Get five people together to free the whole POP! gang at once, and you’ll get a very special surprise!
Harmonies by LeMonde Studio
The Downtown Providence Park Network and the Downtown Improvement District is excited to bring the joyful "Light Lane" and "Harmonies" installations, created by LeMounde Studios, to downtown Providence. These installations are designed to bring joy, illumination, and music to the heart of the city. An entire set of Harmonies instruments, including the renowned Guitar Slide, will be placed throughout downtown, inviting you to experience music in an interactive and joyful way.
Light Lane by LeMonde Studio
Each station boasts customizable LED lights, human-powered music, and captivating projections. As you pedal the Light Lane bikes, vibrant light projections will activate, creating an inspiring blend of sound and light. These installations will light up downtown Providence, transforming the streets with music and wonder.
Ice Dance International
Ice Dance International lights up the ice with a spectacular performance combining magical ice dancing and fire skating that showcases the artistry and athleticism of world class figure skating.
